Imagine you are buying a young horse and happily put it out in a field with peer playmates to give it great experiences, opportunities to play and explore the world with other young horses. But that the stay suddenly gives it very strong muk, which is virtually impossible to treat because the horse has not yet been trained to get washed or treated legs. Then what do you do? That was the reality for Jeannet Segato, who in the summer of 2020 bought Baron, a 2-year-old boy's troop coat. Jeannet had sent Baron to a young horse nursery on a huge meadow, and thought it was absolutely perfect. When she came one day to visit her young four-legged friend, she found him lying on the fold, and he would not get up. Jeannet discovered that he had gotten muk on both hind legs. The area was very swollen, and when she took the temperature of the Baron, she discovered that he also had a high fever. "I was very worried. He was clearly in a lot of pain, and I hurried to call the vet, ”says Jeannet.
WITH LIFE AT BET
The vet prescribed washing of the legs and a cure with antibiotics. However, Jeannet quickly realized that washing and cleaning her legs was easier said than done. The Baron was neither used to nor confident that anyone was touching his sore legs. "It was, to say the least, with life as an effort to have the products applied," says Jeannet, who was afraid of being hit by the powerful legs when Baron kicked out due to discomfort during treatment. "I was so sorry for him. He was wildly sore. At the same time, it was virtually impossible to apply the products that were supposed to help him, ”says Jeannet, who sometimes had to have Baron stunned to be able to get to her feet. WAS LOSING COURAGE However, the remedy that Jeannet had been prescribed by the vet did not have the desired effect. That's why Jeannet spent the next few months on Google searching for products that could help Baron. "I really tried all the products on the market, but none of them worked on Baron," says Jeannet, who was about to give up. One day, however, one of her friends tagged her on Facebook in a post advertising Bacxitium®, a relatively new product on the market.
BECAME THE SOLUTION FOR BARON
However, the problem of applying the product was still there, for Baron had been horrified to be touched on the hind legs after the many months of constant treatment. Treatment which he associated with pain and discomfort. "I talked to the manufacturer behind Bacxitium, who made a solution especially for me and Baron," says Jeannet. The solution was a specially developed pump, which could spray the product from a distance of 3 meters. This meant that Jeannet could stand at a safe distance from Baron when she had to apply the product. "It has made a huge difference in Baron's recovery that I was able to get the product on his feet. He's still not crazy about it, but now I can not get hurt in the process, "says Jeannet, who now sprays Baron with Bacxitium every week to prevent new mucus attacks. GOLD BOY IN THE HEART AND MONEY PURSE After the big deal with muk with associated costs for vet and products, Jeannet is happy to have finally found a solution for her horse that works. The process, however, has given the Baron a new telling nickname, namely the Golden Boy. But that does not mean that Jeannet has regretted the purchase of Baron. "I bought Baron because he stole my heart from the first moment. I've never had a knabstrupper before and he was not chosen because of his breed. But when I met him, the first thing he did was put his head in to my stomach, and then I was sold. He came home the same day, "Jeannet concludes.
